What are evidence-based practices?

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic approach that uses a combination of both cognitive and behavioral techniques. Cognitive therapy is centered on the idea that people can be taught to think in more effective and beneficial ways, while behavioral therapy works under the premise that human behaviors are acquired (or learned), and, therefore, can be changed.  Problematic behaviors stem from and in turn reinforce distortions in one's thought process.  CBT places emphasis on a patient's current thinking and requires a sound therapeutic alliance between the provider and the patient.

When do you expect payment?

Payment  is expected at time of service.  I accept payment in the form of cash, credit/debit card, HSA card, or check. Thank you.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you wish to change a scheduled appointment, it is important that you provide at least 48 hours notice, in order to avoid being billed for the session. Exceptions to this are physical illness or any unanticipated circumstance that could reasonably be called an "emergency". Unless a session is cancelled 48 hours in advance, you will be charged for the missed appointment. Please note that the majority of insurance carriers do not reimburse for missed sessions.
